DAVE HARDER DUMAY
Dave DUMAY started his career as a self taught barber at the age of 15. It is his obsession with details that differentiate his vision and his work from other barber's work . Under the mentorship of 2 very experienced barbers, he deepens his knowledge and experience for nearly 7 years, in a prestigious barbershop. Hungry for more skills, he realizes that fading has its limits when it comes to versatility and servicing a vast majority of clients. This is how he decides to join the hairdressing salon Queen of the World (10 times Winner Cult Magazine Best of #MTL "Best Hair Salon" "Best Hairstylist" "Best Beauty Salon") and learn all the basics of hairdressing.
MARCHANDS DE FRAICHEUR
Always seeking for new challenges, Dave decides to team up with two of his barber friends Renaud Chartrand and Borey Karath Chum; to form “Les Marchands de Fraîcheur”: a team of mobile barbers for corporate events and festivals. Their experience along with the will to create connections with different cultures - is what makes them a popular trio, performing their services for a lot famous Artsy and Cultural Events such as Osheaga, Le Cirque du Soleil , Sidlee and many more.
KINGS OF THE UNDERWORLD
As that association eventually led them to acquire a lot of regular and satisfied clients, they decided to create a subdivision at Queen of the World, in order to offer modern barber services to everyone that felt like having the “feel-good” experience that comes along with a more refined haircut - Kings of the Underworld had emerged.
AcaDEMIE DE BARBIER MTL
He later decides to partner up with Anne Lachance, collaborator from the hairdressing industry and friend, with whom they exchange techniques from their respective crafts for nearly 5 years. Dave and Anne both come up to the conclusion that the gap that exists between hairdressers and barbers is a thing of the past and that what the industry needs now, is more versatile men groomers. From that association, “Académie Barbier MTL” is created: a series of modern barber classes that combines hairdressing and barbering techniques.
Les Industries Groom
All these experiences have helped Dave to refine his style and master his craft. His approach when it comes to hair cutting is to go with the most natural haircut possible for his clients, and then personalizing them with a unique touch. His goal is to make his haircuts last longer in space and time. With the long term approach in mind when cutting, it felt natural to recently associate with “Les Industries Groom” a Montreal based Men Grooming brand that promote self grooming done right with quality products.
KEEP IT G… KEEP IT SIMPLE!
This salon is Dave’s latest challenge. A space right in the heart of the Montreal Mile-end area, that offers daily barbershop and hair salon services for men. But “the G-Room” is more than a salon: the space also hosts classes for barbers to perfect their skills or for those who want to learn the craft from scratch
The G-Room is located in the suites of the co-working company SPACES, at 5455 de Gaspé Ave, in Montreal.
